Core Power is seeking a Sales Engineer with electrical design, construction, or facility management experience. The candidate will be taking over existing accounts and expected to build territory and strengthen relationship with assigned electrical distributors, contractors and resellers. The candidate shall have the technical ability to value sell and position Core Power’s product lines and services over competitors. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for following projects through all construction phases including design, bidding, negotiating, closing, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
The position is ideal for someone looking to transition from their current career to technical sales. Specific product knowledge is not required. In-depth training will be given at manufacturer’s locations by product line experts. Sales Management will provide ongoing training and guidance to assist in obtaining sales objectives.
The candidate should have a Bachelor Degree along with 5 or more years of related experience. Understanding the construction industry and estimating is a plus. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for achieving assigned sales quotas, researching and identifying target customers, and developing accounts. The position requires attention to details self-discipline to manage priorities, strong follow up skills, as well as the ability to independently manage workload, while interfacing with customers and meeting crucial deadlines. The candidate must also have proficient computer skills, professional attitude and appearance, and an outgoing personality.
Responsibilities include drawings and specification review; equipment selection and sizing; and quotation preparation. The Sales Engineer will be required to forecast sales opportunities, understand and communicate competitor activities, and work with sales management from our various product lines. The candidate will be expected to spend 50% of time out of office on customer visits. All travel will be in local tri-state area (NJ, PA, and DE).
Base Salary:$60,000 to $72,000 based on experience
Commissions:$15k to $60k based on ability
Year-End Bonus: $6k to $36k dependent on percent of quota attainment. Must achieve at least 70% of quota to be eligible
